Watch out acne, aloe vera's got your number

Aloe vera is often used in Ayurvedic medicine to treat skin inflammation -- from eczema and rosacea... to (you guessed it) acne. Aloe contains auxin and gibberellins. These are plant hormones that assist in wound healing, and boy, do they do a wonder on reducing breakouts. That's why we cooked up a little DIY using our Aloe Vera Gel to attack acne (say that 10 times fast!).

Aloe vera is an antioxidant, naturally antibacterial and anti-inflammatory. It's the perfect base for an acne fighting gel. In combination with a few carefully chosen essential oils, we've created a DIY to zap pimples that we think you'll love.

Watch Sue-Kate make it and share why it works!

DIY Aloe Acne Gel

Ingredients:

3 tablespoons Green Leaf Naturals Aloe Vera Gel

4 drops lavender oil

4 drops tea tree oil (fewer, if you're sensitive to tea tree oil, or skip if you have an allergy)

4 drop cinnamon oil

Directions:

Mix all ingredients well. Store in a small container (we always prefer glass, when possible) and keep away from direct sunlight. Use twice a day as a spot treatment.
