Show that beard some love

Show that beard some love

It's time for a DIY for our bearded friends. It's our Shea Butter Beard Balm. Keep that beard soft, conditioned, lightly controlled... and hey, some folks swear that shea butter even helps with hair growth. Sue-Kate's husband is such a good sport -- he's the only bearded fella in the GLN family, so he's always our guinea pig with new DIYs! We think this recipe has made his beard look fantastic!

Shea Butter Beard Balm Recipe

Ingredients

2 tablespoons Green Leaf Naturals Raw African Shea Butter

2 tablespoons coconut oil

1 tablespoon beeswax pellets

5 drops chamomile essential oil

5 drops frankincense essential oil

Instructions

Add shea butter, coconut oil and beeswax to a double boiler and melt. The beeswax takes longer to melt than the other ingredients, so don't worry if that's happening. Once those items are melted and mixed well, take the bowl of the heat and let cool for a few minutes. Then add in the essential oil drops and mix completely. You can either let the mixture harden a bit at room temp... or if your kitchen is warm, you can place the bowl or jar in the fridge. We recommend storing the beard balm at room temp, in a covered jar.

To use

Put a small amount of beard balm between your palms and rub together to soften/melt. Comb thru your beard with your fingers and style as usual.
