DIY: Cocoa Butter and Calendula overnight Hand Salve

We've all been washing our hands and using antibacterial gels more than ever these days. This has left many of us with super dry, itchy cracked hands. Luckily, we don't have to suffer, and we don't have to use products with harsh chemicals to protect and nourish our skin.

We’ve got a fabulous DIY to help with your dry, cracked hands. This month’s recipe is for Cocoa Butter and Calendula Overnight Hand Salve. It’s a simple and quick recipe that uses Green Leaf Natural pure, raw Cocoa Butter* and calendula essential oil. Because our cocoa butter is unrefined, it hasn’t been heated to high temperatures during manufacturing. This means it retains its healthy fats and provides more of a benefit to your skin. Calendula is known for it’s soothing properties — it also has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties which is so helpful when your skin is suffering.

*Cocoa Butter can be very hard at room temperature — especially if you live in a cooler climate. To make it easier to remove from jar, you can soak the closed jar in some warm water before removing it. Additionally, some of our customers say warming it, then use a fork to scrape out the desired amount is preferable to using a spoon to scoop it out. Let us know if you have questions!
